TOP Marketing USA worked on a year long project with the brand team at Molson Canadian and executives at the National Hockey League on this truly amazing project. The TOP Marketing USA designers worked with mold makers and engineers to create scale models of 20 different Stanley Cup championship rings. Each was made of high quality metal alloys and was decorated exactly like the real thing. The Molson Canadian brand team chose 20 different rings spanning over 80 years and representing 20 different teams.
Each ring was packaged in a custom designed tube bearing the Stanley Cup, NHL and Molson Canadian logos yet hiding the contents of the tube from the end consumer. A tube was inserted into every case of Molson Canadian sold in Canada for 6 weeks and consumers had to purchase cases of beer in order to collect the full set.
TOP Marketing USA also produced a limited edition display case for consumers to proudly display their rings as they collected them.
The promotion was a tremendous success and the Molson Canadian brand enjoyed a significant lift in sales throughout the duration of the program.
